Suitable bowel management makes bowel emptying predictable again – and gives you back freedom in everyday life.
Bowel dysfunction, faecal incontinence and bowel diseases considerably reduce quality of life. “Bowel management” (Darmmanagement) covers everything that allows regular, predictable bowel emptying within a limited time, with continence in between. The aim is to maintain health and well-being, remove social restrictions and avoid complications. That is why suitable bowel management should start early.
Types of product
Transanal irrigation
In transanal irrigation, the large intestine is rinsed regularly: water at body temperature is passed into the bowel through the anus, loosens the stool and triggers the emptying reflex. The method is drug-free, gentle and can be used on the go. The systems differ in the amount of water; compact mini systems using a small amount of water are particularly suitable for travel.
Anal plugs
Anal plugs (Analverschlüsse) give people with faecal incontinence discreet, reliable support. They are usually made of soft, skin-friendly material such as silicone or foam and adapt comfortably and securely.
